ABOUT

Described as ‘mind-blowing’ (Culture NYC) and as ‘distilling musical energies into chamber works of art’ (David Pearl, Telavivian), the post-rock electronica trio, BERG has received a great amount of local as well as international attention due to their complex sound world and their tight performances.

BERG take influence from Portishead, Bjork, Radiohead, David Sylvian, Depeche Mode, Sidsel Endressen, György Ligeti, Mozart, Brahms, Brad Mehldau & Nick Cave to name a few. Furthermore, this trio, a group of NYC’s finest musicians, have performed intensely around NYC at venues such as The Spectrum, UWS Applestore, Exapno, the Living Room, Pete’s Candy Store, Silvana and MSM international webcast amongst others.

BERG are all very active musicians in the classical/ Jazz Music scene in NYC & have toured with Small Dream Ada, Emilie Wiebel, W4 Composers Collective & Crooked Tails.

BERG’s band leader, Izzy has been granted many national and international awards as a composer including the Nathan C. Davis Prize, Gretud Krauss Composition Prize, and grants from the Consulate General of Israel, and the American Israeli Cultural Foundation. He scored music for films that have been screened in many major film festivals around the world including Cannes, ASPEN, and TIFF.

June 23rd 2014 will see the release of BERG’s debut EP, ‘Children’s Corner’ which was Mastered by Mike Marsh (Oasis, Bjork, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, Franz Ferdinand, Basement Jaxx) on GLASSTONE RECORDS.
